Arts Council Windsor and Region Hires New Executive Director
February 11, 2010 -- Justin A. Langlois has been named the new executive director for the Arts Council Windsor
and Region.
A graduate of the University of Windsor’s Department of Communication, Media and Film (BA, ‘06), and the
School of Visual Arts (MFA, ‘09), Langlois is also the research director of local arts collective, Broken City Lab,
and is currently an instructor at his Alma matter.
Bringing a wealth of experience in community organization, online communications, and a contagious
enthusiasm for Windsor’s unique arts and cultural scene, Langlois will continue to push forward on a number
of already highly successful ACWR initiatives, while expanding the organization’s online presence and
connections to the wider community and region.
“I’m very pleased to be able to take on this position – the ACWR has a long history of connecting the arts and
the city’s many communities, providing a professional and accessible gallery space for artists, and delivering
programming that reflects the diversity here in Windsor-Essex. I’m looking forward to expanding on these
successes and also build towards some larger projects that reach across the city and into the county,” said
Langlois.
Current executive director of the ACWR, Utsy Hadaro has moved on to London, Ontario, bringing his
incredible energy, expertise, and leadership with him.
