Call for Submissions from ACWR Members:
ACWR Members Holiday Exhibition and Sale December 7 to 22 2009
Opening reception December 11 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Members must deliver their submissions to Artspeak Gallery (1942 Wyandotte Street East)
from Tuesday Dec. 1st to Friday Dec. 4th between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. Please follow these
important guidelines:
1. All exhibition participants must be ACWR members in good standing (memberships can
be renewed at any time)
2. Artists must limit their submission to five (5) items or less (you may enter an unlimited
number of greeting cards). All work must be the original work of the artist submitting the
items.
3. For greeting cards: put your name and the price on the back of each card (envelopes
are recommended)
4. Prepare an inventory sheet in advance listing all artworks or greeting cards you are
submitting. Include your name, address, phone number and the price of each item. Please
bring this with you when you submit your work.
5. Artists will receive 70% of the proceeds from the sale of their work; ACWR receives 30%.

Holiday Break Kids Art Classes:
December 21 to 22, 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. at Artspeak Gallery
Join us for a fun-filled afternoon making holiday decorations and festive cards. Ideal for
children five to ten years old. $5.00 per child includes supplies.
Limited capacity! Reservations accepted by phone or e-mail between Dec. 14 and 18th.

Need an exhibition space? Looking for a place to hold a poetry reading? Seeking an
intimate setting for a concert, lecture or meeting? Our 570 square foot gallery is available
weekly or daily for all your special events. Visit our accessible street-front location at 1942
Wyandotte Street East between Kildare and Devonshire Roads in beautiful Olde
Walkerville.
Gallery Information:
* Optional stage
* 40 folding chairs
* Podium, washroom, security system
* Daily rental fee: $25 for members ($35 for non-members)
* Weekly rental fee: $120 for members ($150 for non-members)
* ACWR offices and Artspeak Gallery is open to the public from Monday to Friday 1:00 to 5:
00 p.m. (additional evening and weekend hours are the responsibility of the artist or event
host)
Why rent our space?
* ACWR takes no commission on exhibition sales
* Street level location with lots of parking
* ACWR staff supervises the space weekdays 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Our Mission: Arts Council Windsor + Region (ACWR) is a non-profit organization that
enriches the quality of life for all by strengthening the arts and the community through
leadership, education and promotion.
ACWR is always looking for new, enthusiastic and supportive board members. If you are an
ACWR member in good standing and you would like to nominate yourself or someone else,
please contact ACWR for more information or to renew your membership. Nomination
forms are available at www.acwr.net downloads.
ACWR has redrafted its bylaws. The primary goal of the new draft was to define in more
detail the roles and responsibilities of the Directors, the Executive, the committees and the
Executive Director.
In terms of the current bylaws:
8.1 The bylaws of the Corporation may be repealed or amended by bylaw enacted by a
majority of the Directors at a meeting of the Board of Directors and the enactment,
repeal or amendment of such bylaw or bylaws shall be acted upon immediately and
ratified by an affirmative vote of at least two-thirds (2/3) of the members present at a
general meeting, provided that the proposed amendment or amendments be
circulated 30 days prior to the meeting.
Notice is hereby given that the draft bylaws will be presented to the Membership at the
AGM as well as a motion to approve these bylaws. Copies of both the current and the
proposed new versions are available online on our website and on request at our office.
